We live in a world obsessed with explanations. If something happens, we want to know why. We dissect, analyze, and rationalize until the mystery is gone. But what do we lose when we explain away the miraculous?
Why Do We Need to Explain Everything?
Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s control. Maybe it’s the discomfort of not knowing. But our insistence on logic can sometimes blind us to wonder. Miracles—those moments that defy probability, reason, or expectation—ask us to pause and consider that maybe, just maybe, there’s more going on than we understand.
A Miracle in Mexico: My Story
For me personally, one moment stands out.
I had just jumped off a bus in Chihuahua, Mexico—a sprawling city of nearly 4 million people. I was there to help build a school and needed to contact my friends who lived in the area. I used a pay card and a public phone to call the number I’d been given.
“The number you have dialed is no longer in service.”
I tried again. Same message.
I tried a third time—this time, it rang. Someone picked up. They came and got me.
Later, as we were driving, the leader of the organization asked, “How did you get this number?”
I told him it was from our coordinators. He looked puzzled. “I just got this number,” he said. “None of the digits match—not the area code, not the prefix, not even the line number.”
Think about that. In a city of 4 million people, with the wrong contact info, I somehow dialed the exact right number—by accident.
Coincidence? Maybe. But I believe it was more than that.

What Makes a Miracle? Timing that feels too perfect Connection that defies logic Provision that arrives just when needed Moments that shift your perspective forever
Miracles don’t always look like parting seas or burning bushes. Sometimes they’re quiet, subtle, and deeply personal.
But often, if we pause long enough, they whisper of something bigger—something sacred. I believe moments like these aren’t random. They point to grace, to purpose, and maybe even to a God who’s more present than we realize.
What About You? What’s the most miraculous thing you’ve experienced or witnessed? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments. Whether you call it fate, divine intervention, or just a beautiful accident—let’s celebrate the moments that remind us we’re not alone… and maybe never have been.
